Hertz MLK 700.3 Legend - midrange/tweeter kit with 70mm mid Mille series

The Kit consists of a pair of midrange ML 700.3 + pair of tweeter ML 280.3 + pair of crossover MLCX 2 TM.3 + grilles included + mounting accessories.

The two-way MLK 700.3 Legend system aims to offer an excellent mid-high range to be combined with a Legend woofer chosen between the ML 1650.3 and ML 1800.3 and filtered actively in a multi-amplified configuration. MLK 700.3 Legend is composed of the Extended Midrange ML 700.3 Legend and the tweeter ML 280.3 Legend with the dedicated crossover MLCX 2 TM.3.

The crossover has a particular "Mid-Contour" control, with a three-position selector, that acts on the midrange frequencies of the midrange ML 700.3 Legend by varying the crossover point with the tweeter to obtain the desired sound. It is possible to set the tweeter level in three positions in 2 dB steps, to adapt its emission to the position, attenuating it, in order to perfectly calibrate the emission level.

Polar plates in steel with very low carbon content with CNC machining to guarantee very high magnetic permeability reducing distortion at high power levels.

ML 280.3 Legend

Neodymium magnet optimized with FEA simulations of magnetic flux for maximum control and transient response speed.
Short circuit ring in purest copper, for excellent extension in the very high range.
Die-cast aluminum faceplate with profile optimized with FEA simulations to improve frequency response and dispersion.
Dome geometry in Tetolon Fiber optimized with FEA simulations for lower distortion and better dispersion in high frequency.
Load-bearing structure and rear load chamber both obtained from a block of aluminum worked with CNC, to guarantee an inert response to resonances.
Rear chamber sized for an Fs of only 900Hz: the low Fs guarantees high extension in low frequency and low distortion also in the crossover area, allowing thus to lower the cutoff frequency.
High density damping material under the dome and low density absorbent in the rear chamber, to impart fluidity in the emission and high damping in the low part of the response.

MLCX 2 TM.3

"Hi-Contour" control with two positions to linearize the response of high frequencies based on the placement of tweeters in the cabin and the listener's preferred sound.
Tweeter sensitivity control with three positions, with attenuation in 2 dB steps, to fine-tune the transducer emission.
Bi-metallized 160v capacitors with polyester film of very high quality, with an ultra-low DF value, for maximum sound transparency and detailed mid-high frequencies.
Inductors made with air-wound coils with pure copper wire 1 mm in diameter, for a high magnetic flux saturation threshold and low losses in the woofer areas where high transitory currents are required.
Wirewound high-power resistances, to ensure maximum stability of performance also at high operating temperatures. Wirewound construction allows to have a low parasitic inductance in series in order to reduce the loss at high frequencies, especially for the resistances in 100 in series to the tweeter.
