Anti-vibration damping material for better sound reproduction Dynamat Xtreme Wedge Pak DYN10425 is a package containing 1 sheet measuring 81.2 x 45.7 cm of Xtreme.

The use of Dynamat Xtreme allows you to significantly reduce all resonances inherent to the various materials on which it is applied, the classic use in the automotive field is related to the treatment of the floor, doors and wheel arches in order to have a quieter and more comfortable cabin.
In the domestic sector it is used to dampen vibrations from PC cases, walls, doors, furniture especially in home-theatre environments.
In the Hi-Fi car world it is mainly used in doors, both on the external side and on the internal partition in order to minimize unpleasant vibrations of the metal sheets and at the same time consolidate the working volume of the woofers in order to obtain a more linear response and significantly cleaner bass frequencies.
Dynamat Xtreme is a patented soundproofing anti-vibration damping material, lightweight, elastomeric composed of a butyl layer and a robust pure aluminum film.

Dynamat Xtreme Wedge Pak easily adapts to cover metal, wood and other hard substrates such as composites in general: carbon fiber – glass - kevlar....etc.
The material's performance is optimal for the temperature range between -10°C to +60°C and is therefore specifically designed for automotive use. The material can withstand temperature fluctuations between -54°C to +149°C and is extremely resistant to wear.

APPLICATIONS
Dynamat Xtreme can be cut to size and positioned on the interested surface after having previously cleaned it from the presence of any grease stains and/or dirt.
Dynamat Xtreme can be used on automobiles, buses, boats, restoration, metal and composite panels in general, dividers, ducts, doors, containers etc.. It can be used for ventilation ducts, relay cabins, steel furniture, household appliances, sinks, to make computer cases silent, mechanical tools and many other purposes.

INSTALLATION
Dynamat Xtreme must be cut into the desired shape and formed before the adhesive film is removed. It can be easily cut with the special cutter DYN10001 or using scissors, utility knife or template. Remove dust, grease, moisture and any other foreign substance from the application surface then remove the protective film on the adhesive side.
The simplest application technique consists of unrolling the product along the shorter side and making it adhere while trying to follow every ridge of the surface to be treated. The sheet must then be firmly pressed to make it adhere using a professional roller DYN10007 or the economical roller DYN10005 in order to avoid leaving air bubbles that reduce the soundproofing capacity. The temperature of the sheet and the application surface should not be lower than room temperature during application and in any case a process temperature above 15° is recommended in order to be able to work the product easily. By heating the material you will improve the elastic malleability and adhesion capacity.

ACOUSTIC PROPERTIES
The acoustic loss factor "n" is used as a measure of the ability to dampen noise caused by the structure. It determines how much vibrational energy, in sheet metal for example, is converted into heat rather than noise. For applications that use different layers of soundproofing material the combined loss factor "n comb" is used. The maximum theoretical loss factor is 1 (no vibration). An uninsulated 1mm thick steel panel has a loss factor of 0.001 at 200 Hz. Dynamat Xtreme applied to that panel would increase the loss factor to 0.417 @ +20°C.
The use of different layers of Dynamat Xtreme or the overlaying of Dynaliner will further improve soundproofing.
