Dynamat Xtreme Speaker Kit is a vibration damping kit designed to improve the acoustic support of speakers installed in cars. It uses Dynamat Xtreme technology based on butyl and aluminum to reduce vibrations, resonances and distortions generated by door panels during woofer operation. The kit is designed for localized treatments in speaker mounting areas, where sheet metal tends to vibrate more, compromising the precision and control of low frequencies.


How vibration damping material for speakers works and what it is for

When a speaker is installed directly on the door panel sheet metal, part of the energy generated by the woofer is dispersed through vibrations and flexing of the metal panel. This phenomenon can cause:

Installation

  1. remove the door panel
  2. thoroughly clean the metal surface
  3. cut the material to the desired shape
  4. apply it in the areas around the speaker
  5. press firmly to ensure uniform adhesion

To get the best results, it is recommended to treat both the outer sheet metal and the inner partition of the door. Proper surface preparation is essential to ensure stable adhesion over time. Even in installations shared by car audio enthusiasts, the importance of thoroughly cleaning the sheet metal before applying the damping material is often highlighted.
