Hertz MLK 165.3 2-way Kit with ML 28.3 Legend tweeter + ML 165.3 woofer pair + MLCX 165.3 crossover pair Mille Series

The woofer derives from the ML 1650.3 Legend, inheriting all its technologies such as the "Boundary Free Surround" suspension, the paper and cotton cone with V-cone® profile, the aluminum basket with three spokes and decompression holes, but it has been developed using a high-density ferrite magnetic group that characterizes its emission in the midrange.

The ML 28.3 Legend tweeter uses the same Neodymium magnetic group as the ML 280.3 Legend and has benefited from all the optimization conducted with FEA methods on the dome profile, in common with its older brother, of which however the more esoteric solutions are not adopted such as the die-cast aluminum faceplate, the body machined in CNC from solid aluminum and the copper shorting ring.

The MLCX 165.3 crossover also has, like the MLCX 2 TW.3, the "Hi-Countour" control to adjust the crossover frequency of the ML 28.3 tweeter and therefore the crossover point with the ML 165.3 woofer, based on the position of the two transducers in the cabin. Through the three-position tweeter level control, with attenuation in steps of 2 dB it is possible to finely adjust the level for the correct tonal balance based on your personal preferences.

MLCX 165.3

Two-position "Hi-Countour" control to linearize the high-frequency response based on the placement of the tweeters in the cabin and the sound preferred by the listener.
Three-position tweeter sensitivity control, with attenuation in steps of 2 dB, to fine-tune the emission of the transducer.
Bimetallic 160v capacitors with polyester film of very high quality, with an ultra-low DF value, for maximum sound transparency and detailed mid-high frequencies.
Inductors made with air-wound coils with pure copper wire 1 mm in diameter, for a high magnetic flux saturation threshold and low losses in the woofer areas where high transient currents are required.
High-power Wirewound resistors, to ensure maximum stability of performance even at high operating temperatures. The Wirewound construction allows for low series parasitic inductance so as to reduce loss at high frequencies, especially for resistors in series with the tweeter.
