The ML 1800.3 Legend was conceived and designed for enthusiasts who frequent the competition world and need a component that combines the tonal accuracy of the ML 1650.3 Legend with greater extension at low frequencies due to the large emission surface and the greater power handling and control that only a 50 mm voice coil can guarantee. To achieve these results, the R&D staff conducted an extremely long period of voicing in the car, after creating several prototypes with the FEA simulation method and testing them with an extensive set of measurements conducted with the Klippel® suite.

As in competition car suspensions, the surround must withstand the most extreme working conditions to ensure maximum stability and symmetry at high excursions and thus obtain impact and extension in the low frequency range.

For this reason, the electroacoustic designers developed the new surround bonding system on the basket called Boundary Free Surround. This technology, used in all components of the Mille.3 line, allows for a greater emission surface of the cone with the same diameter, allowing it to move a greater mass of air and therefore produce more acoustic pressure
