ESB car audio 5.6K2 2-way speaker kit new 5000 series

2-way speaker system 5000 Series composed of pair of 165mm woofers, pair of 28mm tweeters. Optional crossovers. Available kit with included crossovers 5.6K2X.

The philosophy of the 5000 Series is to create a speaker system with an extremely high transient response (dynamics), in order to obtain a musical reproduction with a more realistic impact and involvement as possible. To achieve this, the main objective was to reduce the moving masses in order to make the speaker's moving part light and fast in its movements, following the rapid movement variations transmitted by the musical track through the amplifier.

Tweeter

The carbon fiber reinforced, polymeric matrix, dome ensures extraordinary rigidity combined with very low weight. The 28 mm aluminum coil of the tweeter allows the use of very high power for this type of component. The components use a motor with a very large ventilated neodymium magnet, optimized with computer simulations (FEA) to obtain greater efficiency and improve linearity throughout the entire stroke of the voice coil. The neodymium magnet is a high quality type to reduce magnetic loss at high temperatures and concentrate more energy in a small space.

All motor parts are made with CNC process. This offers tighter tolerances and improved performance. Great attention was paid to axial and radial ventilation of the moving coil, this to ensure high power management, with reduced distortion and greater durability. Axial ventilation holes reduce air compression on the back of the dome with significantly reduced distortion and extended response to lower frequencies. A special acoustic resistance helps control the Qts value. Residual resonances are eliminated by the dB Cloth® damping material under the dome, which extends the frequency response to the lower limits and reduces harmonic distortion.

Woofer

The magnetic motor is optimized with FEA simulation to ensure perfectly symmetrical magnetic flux in both directions of cone movement. Great attention was paid to axial and radial ventilation of the moving coil, this to ensure high manageability, distortion reduction and greater durability. Metal parts obtained from solid and refined material are CNC machined for maximum linearity of magnetic flux and minimum magnetic loss. This reduces distortion at high power levels.

A pure copper ring was inserted in the magnetic field to reduce harmonic distortion. Dual-layer CCAW coil (copper coated aluminum wire) of 25 mm wound on an aluminum support for exceptional power handling and compression-free reproduction to handle the most demanding musical passages. The cone exponential reinforced with carbon fiber, polymeric matrix, ensures extraordinary rigidity combined with very low weight.

The ABS frame reinforced with carbon fiber anti-resonant and self-extinguishing, ensures a drastic reduction of the rear reflections of the cone. The frame design guarantees high structural and torsional rigidity. This is the goal of perfect alignment of parts and very tight construction tolerances. The exclusive ESB design of the TSW (Twin Symmetrical Wave) dual-wave rubber suspension allows an excursion with perfect progression and linearity. This function ensures natural low frequency reproduction at every volume level. The Conex centering cap allows smooth and gentle travel during low excursions and gently maintains the cone during high excursions, thus increasing the useful frequency range.
