SWR-T10 - 25 cm Ultra-Thin Type-R Subwoofers.

The Thin Type-R series combines the exceptional performance of traditional Type-R subwoofers in an extremely thin design, optimized for tight spaces.

Installation Possibilities Without Compromise

The Type-R Thin subwoofer series were designed to offer greater installation flexibility and application versatility to build your ideal audio system. At 82 mm depth for the 10'' and 89 mm depth for the 12'', these SUBs deliver deep bass performance where nothing could normally be installed. The 9.9 L (SWR-T10) and 17 L (SWR-T12) required for ideal enclosures allow them to be installed anywhere in your vehicle.

Alpine's Exclusive Technology Ensures High Performance
The new Type-R Thin series features no fewer than 7 unique technologies that Alpine has designed directly. These innovations allow the THIN series to have the excursion and power common only to Type-R Subwoofers but in half the space normally occupied. The design of the new Type-R Thin series has the same DNA as the famous Type-R series - demanding and clean, with an even greater ability to reproduce deep, fast and accurate bass.

The Revolutionary Segmented Spider Design Guarantees Large Subwoofer Excursion
You can rely on the new Type-T Thin subwoofers to create systems with remarkable sound impact, like all of its predecessors. Most ultra-flat subwoofers have much less power than normal subwoofers because their structure greatly limits cone movement. The Thin series uses new patent-pending technology, Pass-Through Gap Geometry, with a segmented thermoplastic spider. This allows the cone and voice coil to have over 50 mm peak-to-peak excursion, moving substantial amounts of air.

Optimal Performance Available Immediately
There will be no need to break in the sub by installing it in an enclosure and using it for hours. This sub is designed to deliver the best performance immediately, right after removing it from the box. Because injection molded resin was used rather than rigid textile phenolic, this spider is immediately ready to deliver optimal performance. An aluminum structure ensures the spider and voice coil excellent durability.
These two graphs were created using reference measurement systems, Klippel. These show the subwoofer excursion with respect to magnetic force, stiffness, and suspension linearity.

FEA Optimized = Maximum Linearity
Alpine's Patent Dual-Sided Compound Radius Curve pole geometry ensures a symmetrical magnetic field with optimized flux density to significantly reduce distortion, improving output performance (U.S. Patent #6,639,993).

More Excursion = More Power
The new optimized FEA structure, together with the revolutionary Multi-Roll suspension (HAMR) provides the new Type-R Thin series with the best X-Max and SPL output of its category.
The measured X-MAX of 15 mm allows the new Type-R to deliver the best class response, ultra-limited distortion and excellent sound quality.

Increase Performance with Power
What is the right amplification for one or two thin subwoofers?

More Control in a Small and Lightweight Design.
Type-R Thin subwoofers have 1.5 lb of neodymium magnet that provides magnetic force five times superior to normal magnets used in subwoofers. This powerful magnet combined with a 4'' (100 mm) voice coil offers greater power handling and more precision, more power and even cleaner bass.

Lightweight Cone Material Designed for Best Performance
A very powerful magnet requires a cone with very robust materials. A specially designed cone, reinforced by injection molding, provides cone rigidity, minimizing losses. A centering ring assembles and locks the voice coil in place. This makes the entire system extremely rigid and linear.

Keep it Cool = Keep it Playing
Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC Heat Sink and Airflow Management System (US Patent #7,634,101) helps to minimize power compression and ensures reliable long playing time by actively pulling (or transferring) output-robbing heat away from the Voice Coil
The new die-cast aluminum frame is directly coupled to the machined aluminum structure. This allows the entire frame to act as a heat sink for constant power handling, even in the most extreme applications.

Alpine's Unique Technology

Radial Vented VC Heat Sink & Airflow Management System
ActivelyManages voice coil temperature by forcing air into the color heat sink.

FEA Optimized Dual-Sided Machined CRC Motor Structure
Creates a symmetrical magnetic field with uniformly distributed flux density to significantly reduce distortion, further improving power handling and output.

FEA Optimized Injection Molded TPE Spider with Pass-Through Gap Design
Provides simple mechanical movement to ensure the 50 mm needed for peak-to-peak excursion, unleashing tremendous output potential for such a compact design.

FEA Optimized HAMR Surround
The Multi-Roll Surround suspension allows extreme excursions without sacrificing cone space.
The FEA Optimized and Santoprene® injections, combined with the HAMR Surround provides excursion control eliminating distortion.
