The Type-R subs have been redesigned to offer greater installation flexibility and application versatility to build the ideal system. With an installation depth of 149 mm for the 10" (25 cm) and 162 mm for the 12" (30 cm), these new models offer even greater power handling.

The new FEA-Optimized Motor Structure together with the revolutionary High-Amplitude Multi Roll (HAMR) suspension design provides the new Type-R subwoofers with the greatest excursion and SPL in the category.
The 21 mm X-Max measurement provides the new Type-R with the power advantage in its category, ultra-low distortion and unmatched sound quality.


Motor with greater force = More control

Starting from the magnet segmented into ten parts, the new Type-R subwoofers deliver more accurate and clean bass, more powerful with greater control. The new magnet structure is an integral part of the new generation of cooling systems "Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC cooling system".


Keep it Cool = Keep it Playing

Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC Heatsink and Airflow Management System (US Patent #7,634,101) helps minimize power compression and ensures long-term reliability without loss of power, without overheating the voice coil. The new single-piece aluminum frame uses the entire structure as a large heatsink to allow perfect management and power delivery without compromise, even in the most extreme applications.


FEA optimized = Maximum linearity

Alpine's Patented Compound Radius Curve technology ensures an ultra-symmetric magnetic field, optimizing flux density to reduce distortion, improving power handling and output.


Always greater power

The oversized 65mm voice coil offers a 35% larger surface, allowing power handling of 600W RMS / 1800 W peak. To achieve maximum performance, it is recommended to pair a PDX Digital amplifier with the new Type-R.

1. Surround FEA Optimized HAMR

The large amplitude of the Multi Roll suspension allows extreme excursions, without sacrificing precious space to the cone. FEA optimized ensures superb linearity and made with a Santoprene® injection mold, this HAMR surround is a fundamental part of the suspension system, allowing extreme excursions with complete control without distortion.

2. FEA optimized spider with reinforced layers

Ensures reliable and consistent control to eliminate any possible mechanical noise or interference typical of many high-excursion devices.

3. Vented VC heat sinks & Airflow management

Actively manages voice coil temperatures by forcing air directly into the heatsink system.

Makes it possible to create a symmetric magnetic field, optimizing flux density to significantly reduce distortion, further improving power handling and output.
