The Type-R Subwoofers have been completely redesigned to offer more installation flexibility and greater application versatility to build your ideal audio system. With 149 mm for the 25 cm and 161.8 mm for the 30 cm, these new models offer a 20% reduction in mounting depth compared to the previous series, while also offering greater output power.

More excursion = More power

The new FEA-Optimized Motor Structure combined with the revolutionary High-Amplitude Multi Roll (HAMR) suspension design gives the new Type-R subwoofers the greatest excursion and SPL in the category.
The 21 mm X-Max measurement provides the new Type-R with power leadership in its category, ultra-low distortion and unmatched sound quality.

Motor with greater force = More control

Starting with the magnet structure segmented into 10 parts, the Type-R subwoofer has a 20% increased motor force compared to the previous generation with even greater control. The new magnet structure is an integral part of the new generation of cooling systems "Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC cooling system".

Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC Heatsink and Airflow Management System (US Patent #7,634,101) helps minimize power compression and ensures long-term reliability without power loss, without overheating the voice coil. The new single-piece aluminum chassis uses the entire structure as a large heat sink to enable perfect management and power delivery without compromise, even in the most extreme applications.

FEA optimized = Maximum linearity

Alpine's Patented Compound Radius Curve technology ensures an ultra-symmetric magnetic field, optimizing flux density to reduce distortion, improving power and output performance.

Ever greater power

The oversized 65 mm voice coil offers 35% greater surface area, allowing for 600 W RMS / 1800 W peak power handling. For maximum performance, pairing with a PDX Digital amplifier is recommended with the new Type-R.

FEA Optimized HAMR Surround

The large amplitude of the Multi Roll suspension allows extreme excursions without sacrificing valuable cone space. FEA optimized ensures superb linearity and made with an injection mold in Santoprene®, this HAMR surround is a fundamental part of the suspension system, allowing extreme excursions with complete control without distortion.

Ensures reliable and consistent control to eliminate any possible mechanical noise or interference typical of many high-excursion devices.

Vented VC heat sinks & Airflow management

Actively manages voice coil temperatures by forcing air directly into the heatsink system.
