The diaphragm of the main speaker of the XS-690ES model is made of mica-reinforced cellular material (MRC) exclusive to Sony. The rigid yet lightweight driver enables a much more precise response compared to drivers made of conventional material and guarantees a smoother and more natural sound.

The integration of MRC in an exclusive matrix with aramid fibers eliminates diaphragm resonance and minimizes distortion, not only in the bass, but also in the midrange and upper frequencies. The result is powerful sound at all frequencies and incredibly clean, even at higher volumes.

The woofer surround is equipped with another Sony proprietary technology, with curved notches that improve the symmetry of vertical amplitude to drastically reduce distortion and improve clarity.

XS-690ES Features

  • Progressive height variation spider: The spider is acoustically optimized and allows for greater power and better air flow, with a profile designed for faster and more precise cone damping.
