ESX VXP822G High-End Flat Subwoofer 20 cm - Grille included

With the VISION VXP subwoofers, ESX presents a new series of high-end woofers for which extensive design work has already been done. Important components such as the aluminum basket, voice coil and diaphragm have been completely redesigned to achieve without compromise the development objective: high-end subwoofers with reduced installation depth. Practically nothing is "standard", so in addition to the cone, 12 other components were specially designed. Particularly evident is the effort made to realize the independent basket in die-cast aluminum with integrated magnetic drive and the newly conceived honeycomb diaphragm.

The richly equipped voice coils with a diameter of 50 mm for the 8 inch model and even larger, 65 mm, for the 10 inch model, allow the subwoofers to handle extremely high loads of 300 or 400 watts RMS. The high values are also due to the use of a special 32 mm long CCAW voice coil, which rests on an extremely lightweight fiberglass support. Thanks to the reduced mass and the powerful dual magnet, a further increase in efficiency of 2 dB was achieved.

Flat woofers have the disadvantage that, because of their design, conventional cone diaphragms do not fit because there simply is not enough installation depth. So only flat diaphragms remain.
