Audison SXR3 is a 3-way electronic crossover designed to manage a Woofer + Tweeter + Sub system.

It has one input (IN) for the signal from the source and five outputs, three of which are main and two secondary. The first of the three main outputs (SUB) provides a Lo-Pass signal specific for a Subwoofer, the second (WOOFER) provides a Band-Pass signal specific for the Woofer, the third (TWEETER) is useful for driving a Tweeter.
Of the two secondary outputs, the HI-REAR should be used to create a rear system to be filtered with a passive crossover.
It provides an Hi-Pass signal with unity gain taken directly from the Hi-Pass filter of the Woofer section (WOOFER HI); from the latter the Hi-Pass signal also depends on the crossover frequency. The BYPASS output is instead a relay that allows you to send to another amplifier, placed downstream of the crossover, the full-range signal present at the input.
The SXR3 control panel is divided into five sections: TWEETER, WOOFER, SUB, BOOST and AMBIENT.

The TWEETER, WOOFER and SUB sections are equipped with five-position selectors for as many crossover frequencies (TWEETER: HI; WOOFER: LO-HI; SUB: LO) and a level control. The TWEETER and SUB sections also have a command for reversing the signal phase between 0° and 180° (PHASE) for better matching of the Tweeter and Subwoofer sound with the Woofer. The SUB section is finally equipped with a selector for choosing the operating mode (MONO/STEREO).

The BOOST section extends and emphasizes the subwoofer's frequency response. It consists of an emphasis filter adjustable in amplitude, with frequency centered on 45 Hz (LEVEL 45 Hz).
By acting on the sum and difference of the two stereo channels, the AMBIENT section provides the sensation of a greater width of the sound stage. It has an adjustable level control (LEVEL) and a selector for disabling (ON/OFF).

FILTER TYPES
The SXR3 filters are designed according to the Bessel configuration with low group delay for better acoustic alignment of the various speakers. Their slope is 18 dB/Oct. which, compared to cuts with less steep behavior, guarantees safer and more linear operation of the speakers by avoiding excessive overlaps of their working areas. The crossover frequency can be chosen from five preset values for the SUB, WOOFER HI, WOOFER LO and TWEETER sections; this allows adaptation to all speaker systems avoiding the problems created by linear adjustment.
The latter, in fact, being implemented through potentiometers, is imprecise both in the frequency values and in the correct functioning of the filters. The use of components with very tight tolerances (resistors and capacitors at 1%) ensures the precision and constancy of the filter characteristics.

Product used in excellent condition.
