Type-R Subwoofers have been completely redesigned to offer more installation flexibility and greater application versatility to build your ideal audio system. With 149 mm for the 25cm. and 161.8 mm for the 30 cm., these new models offer a 20% reduction in mounting depth compared to the previous series, while also offering greater output power.

The new FEA-Optimized Motor Structure combined with the revolutionary High-Amplitude Multi Roll (HAMR) suspension design delivers the new Type-R subwoofers with the greatest excursion and SPL in its category.
The 21 mm X-Max measurement gives the new Type-R the power advantage in its category, ultra-low distortion and unparalleled sound quality.

Motor with greater Force = More Control

Starting from the magnet structure segmented into 10 parts, the Type-R subwoofer has motor force increased by 20% compared to the previous generation with even greater control. The new magnet structure is an integral part of the new generation cooling system "Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC cooling system".

Keep it Cool = Keep it Playing

Alpine's Patented Radial Vented VC Heatsink and Airflow Management System (US Patent #7,634,101) helps minimize power compression and ensures reliable performance over time without power loss, without overheating the voice coil. The new one-piece aluminum chassis uses the entire structure as a large heat sink, to allow always perfect management and power delivery without compromise, even in the most extreme applications.

FEA optimized = Maximum Linearity

Alpine's Patented Compound Radius Curve technology guarantees an ultra-symmetrical magnetic field, optimizing flux density, to reduce distortion, improving power retention and output.

Ever greater power

The oversized 65mm voice coil offers 35% greater surface area, allowing a power handling of 600W RMS / 1800 W peak. For maximum performance, it is recommended to pair a PDX Digital amplifier with the new Type-R.

FEA Optimized HAMR Surround

The large amplitude of the Multi Roll suspension allows extreme excursions, without sacrificing valuable cone space. FEA optimized ensures superb linearity and made with Santoprene® injection molding, this HAMR surround is a fundamental part of the suspension system, allowing extreme excursions with total control without distortion.

Ensures reliable and consistent control to eliminate any possible mechanical noise or interference typical of many high-excursion devices.

Vented VC Heat Sinks & Airflow Management

Actively manages voice coil temperatures by forcing air directly into the heat sink system.
