250mm subwoofer for use in enclosure of the new Mille .3 series - Max power 1400 W Thanks to a completely renewed design, the subwoofers have extremely compact dimensions and are optimized to sound in a closed enclosure with reduced boxes. This design choice combines two requirements that were previously difficult to achieve: reference performance and ease of installation.

"Innovation and design skill are the key ingredients of Hertz's most recent subwoofer model of the top Mille Legend line. The sophisticated motor with its aluminum Faraday rings and "Smart Cooling" strategy for cooling, includes a generous neodymium magnet and an oversized 100 millimeter voice coil wound both inside and outside a fiberglass support. Moreover, the Hertz speaker is characterized by a set of cone, basket and suspension optimized with FEA technique, as well as an exclusive "boundary free" hinge. All this contributes to offering an unprecedented combination of linearity, power control and dynamics using a practical and compact acoustic alignment."

  • Extraordinary large neodymium magnet, optimized with FEA simulations, to ensure magnetic field stability even under conditions of high excursion.
  • CNC-processed plates with very low carbon content, for maximum magnetic permeability and low distortion at high power levels.
  • Internal magnet to voice coil with high size/performance ratio, for maximum efficiency.
  • 100 mm (4") CCAW voice coil, capable of handling musical power of 1400 W, while keeping operating temperature very low and minimizing dynamic compression.
  • Voice coil wound with In/Out method, for uniform cooling of the different layers of the coil.
  • Voice coil wound on a TIL support: this fiberglass material combines the heat dissipation properties of aluminum with the rigidity of polyamide composites, for acoustic performance without compromise.
  • Central pole with "Aluminium Shorting Ring", for minimum distortion and maximum extension to low frequencies.
  • IIR rubber edge "Boundary Free", for SPL performance superior to other subwoofers with the same external diameter.
  • Exponential V-cone® with geometry optimized for high cone rigidity and strong resistance to deformation even at maximum excursion.
  • Mineral injection paper cone, for superior rigidity and damping.
  • Anti-resonant aluminum alloy basket, acoustically very transparent, with self-supporting six-spoke structure and integrated ventilation holes under the spider.
  • Elegant basket edge machined with CNC with diamond cut and Hertz logo.
  • Ergonomic and ultra-compact design, with a series of electroacoustic parameters optimized for closed enclosure applications with volume from 17 to 25 liters.
