Brax GL6 MK2 High-End Woofer 165 mm Graphic Series

The BRAX GRAPHIC GL6 MK2 is a high-end 165 mm (6.5 inch) midwoofer. Developed according to BRAX philosophy, it focuses on pure and unaltered sound reproduction, through the use of specific technologies, selected materials and design oriented to acoustic precision. The product is designed and manufactured in Germany, in line with the brand's attention to construction quality and attention to detail.

The BRAX GRAPHIC GL6 MK2 uses a die-cast aluminum basket, designed to offer high structural stability. The magnetic system, made with precision, works in combination with a 37 mm voice coil and an impedance of 3 ohm. According to the manufacturer, this configuration allows to obtain Thiele/Small parameters suitable for precise transient response and contributes to high efficiency.

The rubber surround, characterized by a specific shape, is designed to allow high linear excursion of the diaphragm. The system also integrates a large magnet ventilation opening, studied to minimize compression effects. The 24-karat gold-plated screw terminals help minimize contact resistance, while the robust cover with BRAX logo provides protection to the magnet.

Each pair of BRAX GRAPHIC GL6 MK2 speakers is marked with an individual serial number and is registered in a support database. This procedure allows to identify each pair within the manufacturer's registration system. Manufacturing in Germany and packaging in a precious wooden box complete the product characteristics, in line with BRAX construction philosophy.


MicroSphere Technology

One of the main features of the BRAX GRAPHIC GL6 MK2 is the MicroSphere coating applied to the 165 mm diaphragm. This patented technology involves the insertion of hollow ceramic microspheres, with a diameter of just 75 µm, inside a polymer layer subsequently applied to the cone. The treatment is designed to ensure effective internal damping without negatively increasing the weight of the diaphragm.

The coating also contributes to increasing the rigidity of the hand-crafted cone, favoring dynamic reproduction and a more accentuated sound response. The goal is to achieve precise acoustic behavior, maintaining attention to the fidelity of the musical signal.


New dust cap

In the GL6 MK2 model, BRAX has introduced a new dust cap made of particularly soft polyurethane. This solution was developed to achieve a more balanced frequency response in the mid-range and promote tonal neutrality.
