Focal ES 165 K system features

The speakers of the K2 Power line are equipped with Kevlar cones that incorporate all the ideal qualities for excellent sound reproduction, they are light but rigid and with excellent damping to offer dynamic sound and perfect definition. The cones are fixed to the frame by means of TMD suspensions whose exclusive design removes unwanted resonances and reduces the effects of distortion.

The two TKM inverted dome tweeters are composed of aramid fibers. Their exclusive "M" profile is designed to control dome deformation and precisely reproduce high frequencies up to 22 kHz. The frames have been redesigned to make them more robust and more compact, their depth has been reduced as much as possible to 74 mm (3"). These tweeters are equipped with built-in crossover.

Each component of the K2 Power speakers is the result of extensive acoustic research to increase power and precision performance.

KEVLAR® cone precision and dynamics

The K2 Power Kevlar® cone, a unique Made In Focal product, is to date second to none. Composed of an ultra-lightweight sandwich-expanded structure, which combines a thin layer of Kevlar® aramid fibers and a fiberglass layer.

"M" shaped tweeter for precise and soft highs

The new K2 Power TKM tweeter features an exclusive "M" shaped structure. This new generation aramid fiber inverted dome tweeter provides high precision, and its combination with the "push-pull" motor with IAL2 technology increases the frequency response extension and provides extraordinary harmonic balance.

TMD suspensions farewell to distortions

Initially developed for high-fidelity speakers, the TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) suspension features a special structure designed to control unwanted resonances and drastically reduce harmonic distortion caused by the stress to which the cone is subject. This patented technology provides well-defined midrange reproduction.

"Radial VC" cooling system for greater SPL

The new radial VC cooling system for speaker coils expels hot air from the coil to the bottom of the magnet through 6 holes. This improves temperature control on the coil, limiting the effects of thermal compression and improving reliability. This greatly increases the efficiency of the speaker. Furthermore, it improves dynamics and produces more powerful sound.
