Morel ELATE CARBON MW9 Woofer high-end 20cm - Triple-layer carbon fiber cone

9" (222mm) woofer with dual-layer carbon fiber cone, 3" (75mm) voice coil, 4 Ohm impedance. The visually striking Elate Carbon woofers were developed with superior performance in mind. These new drivers take their name from the triple-layer cones from which they are derived, consisting of two carbon fiber layers that enclose a Rohacell foam core.

These proprietary cones were developed to give them incredible rigidity, high damping and lightness: the triplet for cone performance. Coupled with a large 3-inch diameter Hexatech aluminum voice coil, a titanium former and Morel's EVC motor technology, Elate Carbon achieves remarkable control and low distortion that translates into highly transparent sound reproduction and rich bass. The Elate Carbon MW9 woofers handle up to 200 Watts of RMS power and a maximum power of 1000 Watts. Frequency range 25 - 3,000 Hz, sensitivity 89 dB, impedance 4 Ohm.

Elate Carbon MW9 Features

Carbon fiber cone composed of two outer carbon fiber skins that enclose a layer of Rohacell, a lightweight and high-strength foam. The combination forms a cone that is light, strong and adequately damped for naturally colorless audio reproduction. Morel speakers with EVC technology use voice coils up to three times larger than those used in conventional speakers. The EVC design moves the magnetic drive system inside the moving coil, eliminating parasitic magnetic flux by effectively directing all magnetic energy to the moving coil.

The result is an ultra-efficient and powerful design, highly compact with efficient heat dissipation and reduced cone breakup for lower distortion. Made 100% from honeycomb-shaped aluminum wire, the Hexatech voice coil reduces air gaps in the coil windings, thus increasing efficiency by up to 20%. Being lightweight, Hexatech voice coils are largely responsible for the extraordinary fast transient response for which Morel drive units are known.
