Dynamat DYN11905 The Hoodliner Thermal protection for engine hood

Dynamat Hoodliner is a thermoacoustic material specifically designed for engine hood insulation. Its high-resistance composite structure allows you to reduce heat transfer to the hood and attenuate some of the noise generated by the engine bay. Unlike vibration-damping materials, Hoodliner is primarily designed for high-temperature applications, where it is necessary to combine thermal insulation, heat resistance and acoustic protection.

How an engine hood insulator works and what it is for

The engine bay is one of the main sources of:
  • heat
  • mechanical noise
  • high-frequency vibrations
Hoodliner uses a multilayer structure composed of:
  • heat-resistant insulating foam
  • high-density reinforced surface
  • high-temperature adhesive
The material allows you to:
  • reduce thermal transfer to the hood
  • limit overheating of the upper surface
  • attenuate some of the engine noise
  • protect the hood paint from high temperatures
The surface structure is designed to withstand high thermal stress environments typical of the engine bay.

When to use it, where to apply it and how to install it

Hoodliner is designed for applications in the engine bay. Typical applications:
  • inside of the hood
  • engine covers
  • bulkheads subject to heat
  • street and sports vehicles
It is particularly suitable when:
  • the hood reaches high temperatures
  • you want to improve acoustic comfort
  • you wish to protect the paint from engine heat
  • the vehicle has been modified or upgraded

Installation

The material is self-adhesive and can be easily shaped. Procedure:
  1. thoroughly clean the internal surface of the hood
  2. check for residue or oils
  3. cut the material to the desired shape
  4. remove the adhesive film
  5. apply the panel with uniform pressure
For proper adhesion it is important to apply the material on dry and clean surfaces.
Dynamat Hoodliner is a solution designed to thermally insulate the engine hood and improve the acoustic comfort of the vehicle in areas subject to high temperatures. Thanks to its heat-resistant structure, it is particularly suitable in automotive applications where it is necessary to protect the hood and reduce some of the noise coming from the engine bay without significantly increasing the weight of the vehicle.
