JL Audio C1-650se 6.5" Two-Way Speaker Kit Silk Edition

The C1-650se system was designed to deliver remarkable fidelity and exceptional value in a format that easily adapts to factory speaker locations.

Equipped with a pure silk dome tweeter, the C1-650se system stands out from other kits in its category for clarity and definition of high frequencies. The edge-driven design of the 1 inch tweeter offers excellent off-axis response and high-frequency extension. Additionally, it benefits from damping of a silk suspension and Ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, as well as the superior power of a neodymium magnet circuit. Also included are 3rd order high-pass inline filters, with advanced tweeter protection circuitry, to prevent damage from high distortion and improve power handling. To ensure maximum installation versatility, surface-mount and recessed tweeter brackets are also included.

The C1 woofer drivers benefit from JL Audio's proprietary FEA and experience in low-frequency driver design. This knowledge is used to create drivers capable of playing at high volumes while maintaining a smooth, dynamic, and low-distortion sound. The core of the C1-650 woofer consists of a proprietary 6.5 inch (165 mm) stamped steel frame and an optimized DMA motor system. An injection-molded polypropylene cone filled with mineral, is suspended with a rubber surround on the front and a carefully designed flat Conex® spider on top of the voice coil, to precisely control its movement. Tinsel conductors are carefully laid and attached to each spider to prevent fatigue and buzzing. These are the same types of features and materials normally found on much more expensive speakers.

To maximize fit, the woofers are equipped with multi-application adapter rings, allowing easy and immediate installation in vehicles with 6.5 and 6.75 inch speaker openings. Without the ring, the woofers also fit many 6 inch speaker locations.
