JBL BassPro Micro Active subwoofer with Dock and integrated Class D amplifier 140-watt RMS

With the new BassPro Micro, JBL has created an ultra-compact powered subwoofer that delivers stunning performance, despite its size. The combination of a 140 Watt RMS Class D amplifier and a proprietary subwoofer is capable of delivering 100 dB. In addition to the dock anchored to the base (which can be detached in seconds, creating extra cargo space when needed), BassPro Micro is equipped with speaker inputs and line-level inputs that allow easy connection to the vehicle's audio system. Controls are also present for input sensitivity, crossover frequency, phase, and a bass EQ with 9 dB boost.

The merits of the JBL BassPro Micro are also aesthetic, it features an elegant and at the same time intelligent design. Durable grilles, satin chrome inserts and matte black finishes: the appearance of BassPro Micro is as pleasing as its sound.

BassPro Micro has been designed to detach quickly via a quick-release bracket and disconnect from the amplifier unit, which also serves as a base permanently installed on the vehicle. Removal of the box allows an increase in the vehicle's cargo capacity when needed.

The integrated 140-watt RMS Class D amplifier provides perfectly matched electronics and is optimized based on the characteristics of the BassPro Micro subwoofer and the enclosure acoustics. Furthermore, Class D operation means the amplifier reaches lower temperatures and draws less current from the vehicle's electrical system. BassPro Micro is designed to be compatible with virtually any type of car audio system, and is equipped with speaker-level inputs for OEM factory systems and RCA line-level inputs for high-end aftermarket systems.

BassPro Micro also has four channels with high-level inputs to ensure bass without flexing and an audio signal detection circuit that allows the subwoofer to turn on or turn off on timeout. Shutdown is set after 3 minutes of inactivity. (The system has a relatively slow reaction time to prevent accidental activation.) An automatic sound detection circuit turns on the amplifier whenever it detects an audio signal. There is a switch to disable the audio sensor when you prefer to use a remote turn-on cable.

For even more radical bass boost, it is possible to daisy-chain two BassPro Micro units, simply using a standard 3.5mm connector. There is no need to perform any additional wiring.
There is a set of controls that give you the ability to fine-tune the performance of the BassPro Micro based on the type of vehicle, placement, and your tastes: Input sensitivity control allows you to set the maximum signal level of the system without excessive clipping or distorted bass response. Crossover frequency control allows you to precisely set the correct frequency based on your vehicle. Bass EQ control can provide an increase in bass response of up to 9dB. The phase switch allows you to achieve correct phase alignment between the subwoofer and the main speakers regardless of the speaker position in the vehicle. The end result is undistorted low-frequency response for all types of music.
