Audison APS 8 R Slim 20cm Single Coil Subwoofer

With the objective of providing high acoustic output even when used with lower power, the APS 8 R was designed to be used in an 8.5 liter reflex enclosure, with tuning between 30 and 40Hz. The APS 8 R was specifically developed to be paired with the AP8.9 bit or AP4.9 bit / AP4 D. The components of Prima subwoofers were developed with a primary objective: to provide high output in restricted spaces. Output is a matter of excursion: the greater the amount of air displaced by the cone, the greater the output.

However, reduced mounting depth has traditionally meant low excursion. Prima subwoofers employ a special cone-cover-dust-basket geometry that ensures wide excursion of the moving assembly while keeping mounting depth to a minimum. The surround and spider have been carefully designed to avoid the rocking-mode phenomenon. The cooling circuit was designed with air inlets on the basket under the spider, eliminating the need for air inlets on the bottom plate. This allows the subwoofer to be mounted close to the rear wall of the enclosure, maximizing the reduced mounting depth.
