Audison APS 8 D Slim Subwoofer 20 cm Dual Coil

The APS 8 D was designed to deliver maximum performance in a sealed enclosure with ultra-compact volumes ranging from 7.5 to 8.5 liters. It features push connectors to facilitate wiring and configurations and was developed with a primary objective: to provide high output in confined spaces. Output is a matter of excursion: the more air the cone moves, the greater the output.

However, a reduced mounting depth has traditionally meant low excursion. Prima subwoofers employ a special cone-cover-dust cap-basket geometry that guarantees wide excursion of the moving assembly while keeping mounting depth to a minimum. The surround and spider have been carefully designed to avoid the rocking-mode phenomenon. The cooling circuit was designed with air vents on the basket under the spider, eliminating the need for air vents on the bottom plate. This allows mounting the subwoofer close to the rear wall of the enclosure, taking full advantage of the reduced mounting depth.
