Audison APBX 8 DS Subwoofer in closed enclosure 20 cm dual coil

The loaded enclosure APBX 8 DS offers the highest performance to size ratio. For this purpose, a sealed 8.5 liter enclosure with a dual coil mobile configuration of 4+4 ohm was adopted to exploit all the power of an AP5.9 bit (mobile coils in parallel for a 2 ohm load) or with two pairs of bridged channels AP8.9 bit (one pair of bridged channels for each mobile coil).

The high excursion capability of the drivers allows the use of the proprietary BASS BOOST of the AP bit amplifiers to exploit all available power for rich and dynamic bass.

APBX 8 DS Features

  • Ultra-low profile box (5.16 in. / 131 mm) in pneumatic suspension, designed to fully exploit the APS 8 D driver.
  • The 2S² design (2 Sides / 2 Sounds) allows you to choose between Down-Firing placement to increase low frequency extension and Up-Firing placement to get more punch and definition.
  • Leveling feet with velcro inserts included for secure grip with carpet, ensuring extreme ease of removal.
  • The SSP (Sub Smart Plug) terminal block has traditional push contacts and a Plug-&-Play connector to configure the impedance as required and to easily disconnect the enclosure.
  • Rounded corners allow easy positioning in the car trunk and act as reinforcement to reduce box resonances.
  • Exclusive design of the cone geometry, dust cap and basket to achieve wide linear excursion (9 mm in one direction), while minimizing the depth required for mounting.
  • Optimized magnetic group component with FEM (Finite Element Modeling) methods for perfect control under wide excursion conditions.
  • 20 cm cellulose fiber cone with water-repellent treatment, with profile developed with FEM simulations and optimized with Klippel Scan Vibrometer.
  • Designed with dual coil to offer the best performance in combination with Audison AP8.9 bit amplifiers (2 CH + 2 CH bridged), AP5.9 bit (sub channel) or AP4.9 bit/AP4 D (2 CH bridged).
  • Robust metal grille included, for total protection of the subwoofer driver.
