ESB Audio 5.UMA Mid-High Unit with 50mm midrange and 28mm tweeter from the 5000 Series

This special and exclusive speaker concentrates the emissions of the midrange and tweeter in a single virtual point, minimizing phase delays and irregularities at the crossover point. Made of Avional aluminum with deep oxidation, the components use a very large neodymium magnet, optimized with computer simulations (FEA) to achieve great efficiency and improve linearity throughout the entire voice coil travel. The high modulability carbon fiber tweeter dome with integrated soft cloth suspension offers superb heat resistance, reduced weight and excellent self-damping, with a natural and linear response and extension to low frequencies. The midrange, also in carbon fiber, integrates a synthetic foam suspension, which guarantees a perfect balance between rigidity, weight and self-damping.

Carbon fiber ensures extremely natural and linear reproduction, with excellent extension at the extremes of the band. Great attention has been paid to the ventilation of the two components, through single axial ventilation on the tweeter and multiple on the midrange. Residual resonances are eliminated by the damping material under the dome, called dB Cloth. This extends the frequency response to the lower limits and reduces harmonic distortion. To improve control and damping, an acoustic resistance has been adopted on both components. Combined together, the two components are able to reproduce with perfect linearity the entire spectrum from 500Hz to 25KHz. Small permanent magnets secure the tweeter and midrange grille in the correct position and are easy to remove for customization.
