ESB car audio 5.6K3 3-way speaker kit new 5000 series

3-way speaker system Series 5000 consisting of a pair of 165mm woofers, a pair of 50mm midrange speakers, a pair of 28mm tweeters and dedicated crossovers. The philosophy of the 5000 Series is to create a speaker system with an extremely high transient response (dynamics), in order to obtain a musical reproduction with the most realistic possible impact and involvement.

To achieve this, the main objective was to reduce the moving masses in order to make the moving part of the speaker light and fast in its movements, following the sudden variations of movement transmitted by the musical piece through the amplifier.

Tweeter and Midrange

The carbon fiber reinforced, polymer matrix dome guarantees extraordinary rigidity combined with very low weight. The 28 mm aluminum coil (tweeter) and 50 mm (midrange) allows the use of very high power for this type of component. The components use a motor with a very large ventilated neodymium magnet, optimized with computer simulations (FEA) to obtain greater efficiency and improve linearity along the entire voice coil travel.

The neodymium magnet is a high quality type to reduce magnetic loss at high temperatures and concentrate more energy in a small space. All motor parts are manufactured with CNC process. This offers tighter tolerances and improved performance. Great attention was paid to the axial and radial ventilation of the moving coil, this to ensure high power handling, with reduced distortion and greater durability.

The axial ventilation holes reduce air compression on the back of the dome with noticeably reduced distortion and extended response to the lowest frequencies. A special acoustic resistance helps control the Ots value. Residual resonances are eliminated by the dB Cloth® damping material under the dome, which extends the frequency response to the lower limits and reduces harmonic distortion.

Woofer

The magnetic motor is optimized with FEA simulation to ensure perfectly symmetrical magnetic flux in both directions of cone movement. Great attention was paid to the axial and radial ventilation of the moving coil, this to ensure high handling, reduced distortion and greater durability. The metal parts obtained from solid and refined material are processed by CNC for maximum magnetic flux linearity and minimum magnetic loss.

This reduces distortion at high power levels. A pure copper ring has been inserted in the magnetic field to reduce harmonic distortion. Dual layer 25 mm CCAW coil (copper-coated aluminum wire) wound on an aluminum support for exceptional power handling and compression-free reproduction to handle the most demanding musical passages. The cone reinforced with carbon fiber, polymer matrix, guarantees extraordinary rigidity combined with very low weight. The anti-resonant self-extinguishing carbon fiber reinforced ABS frame ensures a drastic reduction of the cone's rear reflections.

The frame design ensures high structural and torsional rigidity. This is the objective of perfect alignment of the pieces and very tight construction tolerances. The exclusive ESB design of the dual-wave TSW (Twin Symmetrical Wave) rubber suspension allows travel with perfect progression and linearity. This feature ensures natural low-frequency reproduction at any volume level. The Conex spider allows smooth and gentle travel during low excursions and gently maintains the cone during high excursions, thus increasing the useful frequency range.
