Today most amplifiers have a built-in crossover, but built-in crossovers are designed for convenience and not for pure sound quality. An audiophile-level crossover would be too large and too expensive to build into an amplifier. With a built-in crossover you are sacrificing sound quality for convenience. Zapco crossovers are designed to provide the best possible sound quality and the versatility needed for the most advanced sound systems.

Zapco ASP-2X is a very versatile two-way crossover with separate front and rear inputs, it was designed to work with Zapco LX amplifiers.

ASP-2X a special crossover with two high-pass filters and one low-pass filter. Like most 2-way crossovers, the ASP-2X can be used to separate the bass signal from the mid/high signal. But the addition of an X10 switch on each filter allows high pass up to 4,500 Hz, so the ASP-2X can be used with an active tweeter. At the other end, the X10 switches on the second output allow the bass filter to low pass and the sub-sonic filter to become a band pass of higher frequency. So the ASP-2X can give you an active tweeter and a mid-band pass. And with the dual input system you can fade between the two outputs. If you set the band pass to its wide setting you can have front high pass with rear fill and fade.
