Power, compact dimensions and competitive pricing: these are the objectives at the foundation of the HCP project, expressed in the name itself of the Hertz Compact Power line.
The Hertz team has employed all of its experience and know-how to provide the most appropriate and satisfying response to every user need. Extremely compact dimensions obtained through the use of Class D or AB circuitry, high versatility obtained from numerous configuration controls, remarkable power levels, all this in a single line of products, highly competitive and accessible to all.

HCP amplifiers boast innovation, character and tradition, encased in a minimalist and, at the same time, appealing design; a project born to make easy what is generally difficult: with Hertz Compact Power even the most complex audio systems become simple to install. Thus the Hertz team has successfully overcome another challenge: creating entry-level products without compromises, respecting the design standards of the Hertz brand.


    HCP: THE TECHNOLOGY
    The HCP heatsink is made of extruded aluminum, an unbeatable material for lightness, strength and heat dissipation capacity.
    To reduce dimensions, the power transistors are arranged between the PCB and the upper part of the chassis that collects the heat, from there it is then transferred to the lateral surfaces, equipped with fins, to be dissipated.
    The Front End section, equipped with a complete and excludable crossover system to allow connection with processors, preamplified outputs with crossover on HCP 1D and multiple adjustments, offers the user infinite possibilities for system connections, for any configuration and with any source.

    The inputs, pride of the Hertz R&D area, are available both on RCA connections for preamplified connection (Pre-In) with aftermarket head units, and on high-level connections (Speaker-In) for connection with the factory source integrated in the automobile. The Pre-In and Speaker-In inputs are equipped with special balanced circuitry that guarantees high rejection of electromagnetic interference typical of the in-car environment, ensuring acoustic results free of noise. The Speaker-In inputs are also equipped with the ART function, Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off, which turns the amplifier on and off depending on the operation of the source, eliminating the need for a remote turn-on signal, generally missing on factory audio systems.

    The ART circuit, long since perfected by the Hertz team, guarantees turn-on without delays and avoids annoying noises at shutdown, moreover the function is manually deactivatable through a switch on the control panel: in those cases where the factory source has long shutdown delays or the amplifier restart is controlled by accessory activities such as door reopening, you can disable the ART function and use the remote input via manual control, avoiding excessive battery drain.
    The crossover section of Hertz Compact Power amplifiers allows extreme flexibility in creating any audio system configuration: Bass Boost to enhance low frequencies; Lo-Pass, Hi-Pass, Subsonic, Phase and Full Range to create complex audio systems; adjustable with slopes of 12 dB/Oct. and 24 dB/Oct. according to the model.


    HCP 4 is an amplifier designed for the reproduction of any music genre: with four separate channels for a plurality of configurations. Preamplified inputs (Pre-In) and high-level inputs (Speaker-In) allow its interfacing with any head unit. Designed to operate both in mono, as an element of a three-channel system with sub and front, and in stereo for a powerful two-channel system, HCP 4 is a unique model in terms of versatility! All amplifiers in the Hertz Compact Power line are assembled with high-quality components and equipped with a complete and excludable crossover system. The dissipation system is optimized by transferring all heat to the heatsink and from there to the lateral surfaces that dissipate it.

    HCP 4D Features

    • Compact design, made with an extruded aluminum heatsink, whose upper side effectively transfers the heat generated by the power electronic components.
    • Special balanced circuitry at the input for high rejection of electromagnetic interference, in the Pre-In or Speaker-In inputs.
    • Speaker-In inputs (for factory head units) and RCA-In inputs (for Aftermarket head units).
    • ART, Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off, automatically turns the amplifier on and off when the factory head unit turns on and off (activatable/deactivatable, only with Speaker-In).
    • Power supply with multi-winding transformer, Low-ESR 105°C capacitors, D-Class output stage stable at 2 Ω.
    • Pre-out outputs, also available with Speaker-In level inputs.
    • Operating mode in mono (selectable) to create a three-channel system with sub and front or a powerful two-channel system.
    • Bass Boost (50 Hz) adjustable to 12 dB, for deeper bass.
    • Crossover filters at 12 dB Lo-Pass and Hi-Pass (from 50 Hz to 3200 Hz), allow to create a front + rear system or a multi-channel woofer + tweeter system or a powerful sub + front system.
    • Full range power outputs selectable.
