Helix V EIGHT DSP MK2 8-Channel Amplifier with Integrated DSP

The V EIGHT DSP MK2 is the logical evolution of its already more than impressive predecessor. Same look as before, but inside Audiotec Fischer has brought all its experience and substantially optimized the hardware. The result is an 8-channel amplifier with a ten-channel processed DSP that has no rival.

  • 8-Channel Amplifier with Integrated 10-Channel DSP Pure Class GD - Pure Class GD Audiotec Fischer's proprietary Pure Class GD concept brings the efficiency of traditional Class D amplifiers to a higher level. By varying the internal supply voltage based on the amplifier's input signals, idle losses are significantly reduced and overall efficiency is near maximum at any time. Thus heat dissipation is almost negligible, allowing for the smallest heat sinks and most compact form factors. Beyond that, the Pure Class GD amplifier surpasses traditional Class D designs in terms of sound quality by implementing a fully differential signal path and an improved output filter design.
  • ACO - Advanced 32-bit CoProcessor - HELIX V EIGHT DSP MK2 incorporates a very powerful latest-generation 32-bit CoProcessor for all monitoring and communication tasks, both internally and externally. Contrary to the previous 8-bit generation, this MCU achieves much higher speeds than setting switching and data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software. A further significant advantage is the CoProcessor's integrated native boot loader. It enables software updates of all integrated DSP components in order to adapt the microcontroller-controlled ADEP.3 circuit, for example to future diagnostic system requirements of factory radios or if the device will be extended with additional interfaces. Moreover, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers 10 memory positions for audio configurations instead of the usual two. Faster is better - the particularly powerful 32-bit ACO platform handles all control tasks and ensures a decisive increase in speed, particularly for data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software but also for lightning-fast switching between ten audio configurations. But ACO offers much more: fantastic sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing or RealCenter are implemented, as well as a channel-independent input EQ that includes Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of input signals from OE radios.
  • Intelligent High-Level Input ADEP.3 - Modern factory-installed car radios incorporate sophisticated speaker diagnostic capabilities for connected speakers. In particular, the latest generation car radios are equipped with additional monitoring functions so that error messages and loss of specific functions (e.g. fader function) appear quite often if an amplifier is connected, but not with V EIGHT DSP MK2. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd generation) avoids all these problems without unnecessarily loading the OE radio speaker outputs in the presence of high volumes.
  • Start-Stop Functionality - The switched-mode power supply of HELIX V EIGHT DSP MK2 ensures a constant internal supply voltage even if the battery voltage drops to 6 Volts during engine start.
  • Power Saving Mode - Power saving mode is incorporated in the basic configuration. It allows you to significantly reduce the power consumption of amplifiers that are connected to HELIX V EIGHT DSP MK2 when no input signal is present for more than 60 seconds. Please note that in many cars updated with "CAN" or any other internal bus structure it can happen that the radio remains "invisibly" on for up to 45 minutes. even after leaving and closing the car! Once "Power Saving Mode" is activated, the remote output and thus the connected amplifiers will be switched off. V EIGHT DSP MK2 will reactivate the remote output within one second if a music signal is applied. It is possible to change the 60 sec. shutdown time or completely disable "Power Saving Mode" via the DSP PC-Tool software.
  • New signal converters for optimized audio quality - Instead of a combined codec, the new V EIGHT DSP MK2 uses separate latest-generation AD and DA converters from Asahi Kasei with native 32-bit resolution. This ensures maximum signal resolution throughout the entire signal path from input to output and thus guarantees optimal sound quality.
  • Virtual Channel Processing: Here's how signal routing works - Adaptation to modern OE audio systems through an increasing number of inputs has a significant impact on the complexity of signal routing within the amplifier. Especially when different input signals are mixed together and then split again into multiway systems, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits, both in terms of implementation and usability. Audiotec Fischer's new multi-stage "Virtual Channel Processing", in combination with the recognized and intuitive DSP PC-Tool software, simplifies the realization of even extremely complex system configurations. Furthermore, it allows you to freely assign our proprietary audio functions FX such as "RealCenter" or "Augmented Bass Processing".
  • Maximum Connectivity - More and more automobiles are equipped with factory-supplied audio systems. Most of them contain a multi-channel amplifier that cannot be replaced by another amplifier. Adaptation to such a configuration requires not only many input channels but also a particularly wide adjustment range for input sensitivity. Therefore, the V EIGHT DSP MK2 offers both six RCA / Cinch inputs and eight high-level inputs with a maximum input voltage of 4 V to 32 V. Furthermore, the V EIGHT DSP of course also has the latest generation ADEP.3 circuit.
  • Power pack in a noble design - Despite its further increased feature set and up to 160 Watts of RMS output power per channel (@ 2 Ohm), the V EIGHT DSP MK2 comes in the classic clean HELIX design that provides the ideal prerequisites for easy and fast integration. High-tech performance couldn't be more noble and elegant!
