Hertz SP 4.900 4-Channel Class D Power Amplifier SPL Show Series

The SP 4.900 is the first Hertz amplifier characterized by the renewed Hertz ADC (Advanced D-Class) output stage, which can reach 85% efficiency and deliver remarkable power of 160 x 4 (4Ω) W RMS or 500 W x 2 (4Ω) W RMS bridged, with an ultra-compact size of 211.6 x 130 mm. These characteristics make it the ideal choice for motorcycles, for installation under the seat of sports cars and in ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles).

Hertz ADC technology ensures that the SP 4.900 surpasses the performance of a standard compact amplifier, achieving a signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dBA and a THD value of 0.02%, minimizing noise from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), for unmatched sound quality.

This versatility is perfect for driving a pair of high-power front speakers (4Ω) and a subwoofer with two bridged channels (4Ω). The SP 4.900 is fully protected against overheating and DC output, through immediate entry into protection mode (red LED on) to save the speakers.

The IP55 certified aluminum chassis offers maximum protection against moisture and external agents and the absence of an internal cooling fan prevents dirt accumulation. The SP 4.900 board is treated to prevent damage caused by condensation formation, a condition that can occur when humid warm air meets the amplifier chassis that is at a lower temperature.

The SP 4.900 is equipped with integrated USS (Universal Speakers Simulator), a dynamic load circuit on high-level inputs that initially shows the OEM head unit a low enough load to neutralize the muting circuit of the speaker outputs. Once the circuit is activated, a higher load is introduced - still low enough to attenuate the head-unit speaker outputs, but not enough to cause current problems or heat dissipation issues. The SP 4.900 offers both remote-in of the input signal and DC offset on the speaker inputs for automatic start-up, for total compatibility with every vehicle.

The versatile crossover filters and control buttons are on a single side, to allow easy adjustment even after the product has been installed. The high-pass and low-pass filters are extremely flexible, adjustable from 50 Hz to 5 kHz with a slope of 12 dB/Oct. Together with the bass-boost control (45 Hz, 0÷8 dB), the filters allow the front stage to be configured for full-range use or with the addition of a subwoofer. The high pass crossover can also be used to optimize the performance of the high-efficiency SPL Show NEO coaxial speakers, the perfect partners for the SP 4.900.
