Helix M SIX 6-Channel Amplifier with 10-Channel DSP

Six-channel amplifier: despite its compact size, it is a powerful control center that has ten DSP channels processed. Furthermore, the amplifier offers abundant output power of 100 Watts RMS per channel, both on a 4 Ohm and 2 Ohm load.

Compromises in terms of sound quality are not permitted in a HELIX product, and that is why the M SIX DSP is equipped with all the necessary features to achieve perfect sound. Of course, the excellent and separate A/D and D/A converters are equally natural: on the DSP circuit board, entirely manufactured in Germany, you will only find excellent and separate A/D and D/A converters, as well as an extremely powerful DSP from Analog Devices. Furthermore, the four preamp outputs with output voltage of 6 Volts provide more than sufficient level to drive any additional amplifier.

Helix M SIX maximum flexibility

The internal amplification section of the M SIX DSP is also extremely variable: it can operate in 6-channel mode or, thanks to its bridging capability, can be configured as a 5-channel, 4-channel or even 3-channel amplifier.
But that's not all: thanks to the four preamp outputs, the audio system can be expanded in different ways and extended up to 10 channels.
In combination with other amplifiers in the M series (M ONE X, M ONE, M FOUR or M SIX), the possibilities for expanding the number of power channels are more than sufficient.
In this way it is possible to create complex but affordable and especially compact multichannel systems with enormous performance.

M SIX Features

  • ACO - Advanced 32-bit CoProcessor - The HELIX M SIX DSP incorporates an extraordinary and powerful latest generation 32-bit coprocessor for all monitoring and communication tasks, both internal and external. Compared to the previous 8-bit generation, this MCU achieves much higher speeds for setting switching and data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software. Another significant advantage is the integrated and native boot loader of the CoProcessor. It allows software updates of all components of the integrated DSP, in order to adapt the ADEP.3 circuit controlled by the microcontroller, for example, to future requirements of the diagnostic system of factory radios or if the device will be expanded with additional interfaces. Furthermore, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers 10 memory locations for audio settings, instead of the common two.
  • Intelligent high-level input ADEP.3 - Modern factory-installed car radios incorporate sophisticated speaker diagnostics possibilities. In particular, the latest generation car radios are equipped with additional monitoring functions, for which fault messages and loss of specific functions (for example, the fader function) often appear when an amplifier is connected - but not with the M SIX DSP. The new ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation) avoids all these problems without unnecessarily loading the OE radio speaker outputs at high volumes.
  • Power Save Mode - Power Save Mode is built into the base configuration. It allows significantly reducing the power consumption of amplifiers connected to the HELIX M SIX DSP when there is no input signal for more than 60 seconds. Please note that in many latest generation cars equipped with "CAN" or other internal bus structures it can happen that the radio remains "invisibly" on for up to 45 minutes even after closing and leaving the car! Once "Power Save Mode" is activated, the remote output and therefore the connected amplifiers will be turned off. The M SIX DSP reactivates the remote output within one second if a music signal is applied. The 60-second shutdown time can be modified or the "Power Save Mode" can be completely disabled via the DSP PC-Tool software.
  • Start-Stop functionality - The switched power supply of the HELIX M SIX DSP ensures constant internal supply voltage even if the battery voltage drops to 6 Volts during engine cranking.
