HERTZ HCP 4 - 4-Channel Amplifier - High Power Minimum Size.

HCP 4 is an amplifier designed for the reproduction of any music genre: with four separate channels for a plurality of configurations. Preamp inputs (Pre-In) and high-level inputs (Speaker-In) allow it to interface with any car stereo.
Designed to operate both in mono, as an element of a three-channel system with sub and front, and in stereo for a powerful two-channel system, HCP 4 is a unique model in terms of versatility!
All amplifiers in the Hertz Compact Power line are assembled with high-quality components and equipped with a complete and switchable crossover system.
The heat dissipation system is optimized by transferring all heat to the heat sink and from there to the side surfaces that dissipate it.

HCP 4 main features

Compact design, made with an extruded aluminum heat sink, whose top side effectively transfers the heat generated by the power electronic components.
Special balanced input circuitry for high rejection of electromagnetic interference, in the Pre-In or Speaker-In inputs.
Speaker-In inputs (for factory car stereos) and RCA-In inputs (for aftermarket car stereos).
ART, Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off, automatically turns the amplifier on and off when the factory car stereo turns on and off (activatable/deactivatable, only with Speaker-In).
Power supply with multi-wire wound transformer, Low-ESR 105°C capacitors, AB-Class output stage stable at 2 Ω.
Pre-out outputs, also available with Speaker-In level inputs.
Mono operation mode (selectable) to create a three-channel system with sub and front, or a powerful two-channel system.
Bass Boost (50 Hz) adjustable to 12 dB, for deeper bass.
12 dB crossover filters Lo-Pass (from 50 Hz to 500 Hz) and Hi-Pass (80 Hz). The fixed frequency Hi-Pass filter allows optimal coupling with a subwoofer amplifier or the realization of a front + rear or sub + front system.
Selectable full range power outputs.

HCP: technologies and features
The HCP heat sink is made of extruded aluminum, an unbeatable material for lightness, strength and heat dissipation capacity.
To reduce dimensions, the power transistors are arranged between the PCB and the top part of the chassis that collects the heat, from there it is transferred to the side surfaces, equipped with fins, to be dissipated.

The Front End section, equipped with a complete and switchable crossover system to allow connection with processors, preamp outputs with crossover on HCP 1D and multiple adjustments, offers the user infinite possibilities for system connections, for any configuration and with any source.
The inputs, the pride of Hertz's R&D area, are available both on RCA connections for preamp connection (Pre-In) with aftermarket car stereos, and on high-level connections (Speaker-In) for connection with the factory source integrated in the car. The Pre-In and Speaker-In inputs are equipped with special balanced circuitry that guarantees high rejection of electromagnetic interference typical of the in-car environment, ensuring acoustic results free of noise.
The Speaker-In inputs are also equipped with the ART function, Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off, which turns the amplifier on and off based on the operation of the source, eliminating the need for a remote power-on signal, generally absent on factory audio systems.

The ART circuit, long perfected by Hertz staff, guarantees turn-on without delays and avoids annoying noises at shutdown, and the function is manually deactivatable through a switch on the control panel: in those cases where the factory source has long shutdown delays or the amplifier turn-on is controlled by accessory activities such as the reopening of doors, you can disable the ART function and use the remote input via a manual command, avoiding excessive battery drain.
The crossover section of Hertz Compact Power amplifiers allows extreme flexibility in creating any audio system configuration: Bass Boost to enhance low frequencies; Lo-pass, Hi-Pass, Subsonic, Phase and Full Range to create complex audio systems; adjustable with 12 dB/Oct. and 24 dB/Oct. slopes according to the model.
In particular, the mono HCP 1D amplifier is equipped with Hi-Pass preamp outputs that allow you to create a Band-Pass on the front woofer. While the four-channel HCP 4D model has an extended range of filter frequencies, to be used also in multi-channel Front systems with 2-way active.

On board the HCP electronics, a power supply section with multi-wire wound transformer and Low-ESR 105°C capacitors, operates at high efficiency ensuring the energy needed for the output stage in Class D (in HCP 1D, HCP 4D and HCP 5D) and in Class AB (in HCP 2 and HCP 4), to make them stable at 2 Ω load and ensure maximum power output.

With both the HCP 1D and the HCP 5D it is possible to control the subwoofer remotely via the HRC, Hertz Remote Control accessory, connected to the specific Remote Control socket; this allows you to adjust the subwoofer volume level with extreme precision even while comfortably seated inside the car.
The HRC knob has a center detent where the subwoofer level is calibrated optimally. From this position the level can be increased by 6 dB or reduced to zero, it is always possible to find the optimal volume by repositioning the knob to the Center Detent.
