MUSWAY D8v4 8-Channel Digital Amplifier with 10-Channel DSP

The brand new 8-channel DSP power amplifier from Musway, the D8v4, not only brings a breath of fresh air to the world of Class D amplifiers with DSP, but also sets new standards in the "extremely compact" category. Externally, it looks similar to the previous model, but under the hood a lot has changed: Musway engineers made the seemingly impossible possible and increased performance by a huge 40%, without increasing the size of the heatsink. This is made possible by state-of-the-art Infineon® power chips, which not only deliver more power, but also work significantly more efficiently from an energy perspective. With dimensions of just 127 x 207 mm and the impressive performance of 8 x 100 watts RMS at 2 ohm, Musway is one of the most compact 8-channel DSP power amplifiers in the world in the 100 watt per channel class. Musway itself remains pleasantly conservative when it comes to specifying power: in the test report in Car & Hifi 02/2025, the test laboratory determined significantly higher power: ultimately, the protocol showed 8 x 82 watts at 4 and even 8 x 142 watts at 2 ohm.

The D8v4 is in a different league not only in terms of power, but also compared to traditional plug+play power amplifiers: on the input side, it has eight high-level channels with EPS® that can handle up to 18 volts input. The heart of the D8, of course, remains the integrated 10-channel DSP, which is extremely versatile. The DSP also has two additional outputs that can be integrated for connecting external amplifiers, for example to drive subwoofers. The external amplifier can then also be controlled via a PC or via a smartphone app using an optional Bluetooth dongle.
