Audison AP8.9 bit 8-Channel Amplifier with 9-Channel DSP Processor

The AP8.9 bit amplifier is dedicated to OEM Integration. The powerful management software allows you to acquire the bit Drive presets fine-tuned by the Audison research team specifically for the vehicle. The innovative power supply stage has made it possible to obtain a total power of 520 W in an extremely compact case. The ninth non-amplifiable channel can be used to drive a subwoofer through the mono amplifier.

Audison Prima amplifiers, the result of an innovative project, are characterized by extremely compact dimensions and elegant design. For the first time Audison has produced an amplifier equipped with an integrated processor; this feature inaugurates a new era: the computing power of the DSP is at the service of OEM Integration. The presence of the processor guarantees Audison Prima amplifiers full compatibility with bit Drive technology: in the amplifiers there are seven Drive presets that correspond to different system configurations, freely selectable by the user through a rotary selector. This solution minimizes the time needed for configuration and eliminates any possibility of error.

Audison AP8.9 bit wins the EUROPEAN INCAR INTEGRATION 2014–2015 title awarded by EISA, European Imaging and Sound Association.

The EISA expert panel motivated the award as follows:


"This powerful processor integrates perfectly with the original systems of any vehicle, compensating for the settings of the standard audio system and providing every type of correction needed on nine independent channels. The eight channels of internal amplification can be directed and bridged to group them and adapt them to the user's needs or system layout. The AP8.9bit is supplied with presets specific to the most common speaker configurations, moreover the parameters are totally modifiable to adapt them to personal tastes, moreover users can share their customized settings online with each other. It is a compact and extremely flexible device that can make a world of difference for the sound quality produced by practically any car audio system."

Over the past 5 years the Audison research team has focused its efforts in the field of digital audio. The deep experience acquired over many years in the analog field has also highlighted the limitations of this technology in reproducing sound in a difficult environment like the car.

The study of digital techniques was not limited, as often happens, to replicating analog technology more efficiently, but mainly focused on the new possibilities they could offer to improve acoustic reproduction and ergonomic integration in vehicles. This introduced innovative new audio solutions, such as Audison bit processors for digital signal processing via DSP, AD Link and AC Link for the transmission and management of digital signal in each individual amplification channel. This "wave of innovation" led to the birth of Audison Full DA digital audio technology which, immediately, established new quality standards in audio reproduction even in the car.
